Battle Hymn of the Wind

The sound of my mind

Is a haunting place

Filled with chaos and eloquence

Transmuting terror

Like a terrestrial Jupiter

I shine like moonlit silver

Spacious is the place between my ears

Though it is filled with many wonder years

I feel like a mighty fortress

That has withstood many trebuchet volleys

My jagged scars

Proof

That I am not broken easily

Though underground

There may be caverns that lead to my undoing

Grey things

With black eyes

Stare deep within me

Piercing my void with a flashlight finger

The clicks

They haunt me like my own shadow

But still

I soldier on through the glare of a gunmetal sky

I am deep

Like bioluminescent fish

And my mind has teeth like them too

I am shallow

Forgive me for I am but a man

With a man’s dual purpose

I could use a good vacation

Maybe somewhere warm

With pools of mixed rum drinks

And songs of battles long gone

The Queen may have her revenge

But she washed up on my shores

While the tide was low

And so

There I was

Like a double doubloon

Gleaming ear to ear

Who could resist

An opportunity as golden as a thorn that was willing to kiss?

Do you see that I am flawed

There are pieces missing around my rim

But I can guarantee

I am still King of my Destiny

Master of the Scroll

My mind breathes fire just as it breathes wind

I have the Earth on my feet

And the Ocean in my eyes

After all

My ancestor was Samwise

My descendants Dragons

You can find me

Within the space between book pages

Do you know

Do you know

Do you doe-see-doe

Or do you just no-see-know?

I am

I was

And I Will myself to manifest the top of the pyramid we have been building on for millennia

Nothing can stop this

For the gold has been poured

If you don’t believe me just know that I am both quill and sword

Shield and Mace

Mind and Man

Thought and Place

I am

Me
