Tears of Mercury

I wrote a letter to the stars

But it got lost in planetary transit

Retrograde Mercury always fucks my shit up

I grabbed a feather

From out of my hat

And then

I wrote some of this

Some of that

The tears we cry

They are metallic and cold

Like B Minor Dorian

Left out in the snow

You can hear the wind whisper the noises of the ether

They tell me that my voice

Can only be heard by the moon

I howl like a night owl

With a radar dish for a face

Broadcasting my words

Deep into the galactic core

A messenger from time

Left out and locked out

Like a tongue tied cherry stem

So much left to be said

Quick the knocking of a lantern

Be careful for it holds the sun

Slow the waxing of a candle

For it wanes as the moon

Tears of Mercury

A poison it is to feel

When all you’ve ever known is how to send head over heel

While flying so surreal

A demon beckons my mind

Within a finger crooked as a 100 year spine

Get back motherfuck

You’ll get your karma in due time

I wait for the night

And aim my telescope high

To spy on the planets

And see with an aided eye

Neptunian Blues

They twang from radio waves

Venusian howls plague my brain

Martian footprints

They speckle the land

While the Eagle Rises

It has also been known to land

And those tears?

Ahhhh yes those Mercurial Tears

They flow from the left eye out from the mind
