Oh Henry

I wander in wonder

Through realistic bonds and numbers

Like a compass that has no north

I spin like the earth

Dancing a cosmic dance

With sun, stars and chance

Maybe someday I will find a cardinal

Singing the song of my forefathers

Maybe someday I will find a road

That leads me back towards home

But for now…I consider myself lost in learning

Lost in love of the moment

Skipping steps

One to the next

On a freeway of freedom

I lose myself in the dance of directionlessness

And breathe a pink lunged breath

I open my arms and eyes to whatever is next

While I feel my heart beat out the rhythm of love in my chest

I wander through life’s open doors

Perceiving that less truly is more

Believing in myself

Because I can’t be anyone else

So why not wander I say?

To take in all the world has thrown away

I might find another one like myself on this untrodden soil

And then

I will chart a map

From where I started to where I made my final lap

So I tip my hat

And wrap from life’s box of chocolates

A tiny morsel of an Oh Henry

While I think to myself

What a wonderful world
