The Bird and the Bae

Lying together

Encircled on the ground

Free as a bird

Chilling as the night breeze

Silence permeates the air

The sound of our souls

Crying out from our auras

Whispering to each other

Come back to me

Come back to me

Cause we’re just like the birds and the bees

We’re alone when we’re hunting

For the solace of a night together

Of a night that lasts forever

One that erases the loneliness of wasted years

I spy

You try

We grow apart

Like branches from the trunk of a California redwood

Towering high in the air

The only way down is through despair

Whiskey breath and alien sex

Rescue me from the pounding of the morning thought

Rescue me from the borders of the city

I want to fly like a robin devoid of fear

And disappear without a care

There is a curse upon me cast by jealous lovers

And it affects my actions or lack thereof

The sound of the Gods speaking to Angels

Is heard in our eyes

Is seen in our touch

And felt in our hearts

The Holy Snake is always looking for another

To swallow

And digest like a fantastic Stephen King novel

The search goes on

The lights go off

And Darkness falls

But only for now

For the morning

The bees will buzz

And the birds will sing

As I welcome you onto my cloud
