A Haunting

A haunting of the soul

A story once told

A move of pawn

Please remain calm

Taking sanity away

Replacing for the game

The game of kings

The game of theives

Break your will

Rise or fall to your knees

I want somebody

I want someone

I want to hold you

But you might as well be in the ground

A teasing of sense

A taking of time

A little bit of death

A little motion of flirt

Dancing with the reaper

Swimming with the sharks

Play with your marionette

Toy with the string’s theory

Once upon a midsommer’s night dreary

The ravenous raven ate my eyes

And left me blind

Left me to stumble and fumble

Left to be tortured then crumble

Calling out to the night

Hear me oh ether in the wind

Help me to find my way

Help me to find my home

Help me to find myself

I want somebody

I want someone

I want to hold you

But you might as well be in the ground

Frozen in glass

Plastic and shattered

Stripped of class

Robbed of reason

I once rode the waves of the mind

Like a dragon out for blood

Slowly bleeding it’s heart onto the fields of wheat

Nutrition for the peasants at the expense of the dark soul

Wings beating the air like a baker beats his dough

Needing to discover something that is not taught

But learned through mistake

By chance the dragon finds a blacksmith

Stoking his fires high

Wounds cauterized destruction is now nigh

It’s time to ride into that good night

Wings sliding through the air like child’s play

The time for the feast has come

And all will know

That you do reap what you sow
